Living in Key West we get our fair share of oysters that make it down our way from Apalachicola and points beyond.
I love fresh shucked oysters on the half shell and sometimes we’re in the mood for the bivalve molluscs hen cooked on the grill.
There are so many ways to do grilled oysters.
The most famous would have to be oysters Rockefellers with spinach and a rich buttery sauce.
Topped with tablespoon of collard greens always seems to work too.
BBQ with your favorite sauce, a little cheddar cheese and a piece of pork or Canadian bacon.
Sometimes a simple Seafood Seasoning oyster Parmesan does the trick.
Here’s our recipe:
Seafood Seasoning Oyster Parmesan
Ingredients-
Fresh shucked oysters on the half shell, 2-6 per person
Key West Spice Company Seafood Seasoning
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, 1-2 tablespoons per oyster
Lemon wedges for garnish and extra flavor.
Special Equipment-
Oyster knife & metal tongs
Outdoor grill
Directions-
Preheat grill (can also be done in the oven under the broiler)
Place shucked oysters on a tray and sprinkle Key West Spice Company Seafood Seasoning then top with grated Parmesan cheese.
Place oysters on the heated grill (or under the broiler) until cheese is hot and melted.
Carefully remove with tongs and serve right away!
